Consider via Cairo then EgyptAir to Doha QAT qatar GETTING HERE
Fly to Doha. A few people do drive from Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, if you are one of these, you don't need our advice!

Qatar Airways is one of the worlds fastest growing airlines, and direct flights to Doha are increasingly common. Otherwise target Dubai for relatively inexpensive fares, and then there are many shuttle flights to Doha. An odd approach that worked out well for us a few years ago is to fly to Cairo then catch an inexpensive Egypt Air flight to Doha. Let us know your flight details and we can arrange airport pickup -- this is complimentary on our deluxe & superior packages, a small charge on the classic.

GETTING TO THE TRACK
If you are not in our package, then your best bet is a taxi or hire car. There is a bus service which goes to the main entrance, and there is an internal shuttle going between the main entrance and the paddock/VIP.

VISAS
Visa regulations have recently been liberalised and it is now much easier to enter the country. Nationals of the following 33 countries can now receive a visit- visa on arrival for a period of two weeks:

USA , Britain , France , Italy , Germany , Canada , Australia , New Zealand , Japan , Netherlands , Belgium , Luxemburg , Switzerland , Austria , Sweden , Norway , Denmark , Portugal , Ireland , Greece , Finland , Spain , Monaco , The Vatican, Iceland , Andorra , San Marino , Liechtenstein , Brunei , Singapore , Malaysia , Hong Kong , and South Korea .
Visas cost 100 QAR (about US$28 , EUR 18, GBP14, AUD 31)

For citizens of other countries; or if you want to save having to queue at the airport, you will need to apply on line
http://www.e.gov.qa/
It is not obvious from the web site, but you will need to register first, then you can apply for the visa. To apply, after you log in, click on 'visit visa/apply online' in upper left corner. The application form is diabolical - you need to select 'Joint Tourist Visa'; and if you do not have any dependants leave this section blank (even though it says it is required) BE WARNED: Visas purchased online are timed from the date of PURCHASE not the date of entry. Our suggestion is that you just purchase the visa on arrival, they are very efficient. We can help if you need Hotel confirmation - please ask us. If so, please provide us with full names, sex, nationality of each traveller.

ALCOHOL
NO ALCOHOL MAY BE BROUGHT INTO THE COUNTRY, EVEN FOR PERSONAL CONSUMPTION. It will be confiscated, and if you ask, they will give you a voucher enabling you to reclaim it on your way out. However you reclaim the bottle air side, which means you do not have the opportunity to check it in your luggage, so if you change planes at another airport, it will be confiscated AGAIN, but this time as a liquid in your hand luggage!
Drink is available in the international hotels (our Superior & Deluxe hotels) and in the VIP Village at the track.

WEATHER
In early April the day time is warm but not too hot, low of about 17c to high of 27c. The evening can get surprisingly chilly, so you want to bring a sweater or jacket to the track in the evening! Last year we advised people not to bother with an umbrella. Wow, bad advice! :-)

TOURISM INFORMATION
See
http://www.experienceqatar.com/ for the official tourism gateway. The site hasn't changed since 2004, and the events section scarily doesn't mention the MotoGP; but there is some basic info about the place. Doha 3 Circuito de Jerez Jerez circuitodejerez.com Jerez Spain 8597 8576 8786 8637 8900 8613 Jerez has direct flights on Monarch and RyanAir from UK; Hapag, Air Berlin and Condor from Germany; we can organise pickup. Consider flights to Seville which gives more options, Malaga is a 2 hour drive. For those in our 'Hacienda' package we can fly you in a private plane from Seville landing at the hotel! SPA jerez GETTING TO JEREZ

Jerez has a tiny airport, serviced from the UK by RyanAir; from Spain by Vueling, Air Berlin, Iberia and Spanair; from Germany Air Berlin, Condor and TUIfly are good bets.

You can also consider flying to Cadiz (about 45 mins, but a small airport as well); Seville (about 1 hr); Gibraltar (about 1.5 hr drive); Malaga (about 2.5 hr). There are public buses and trains connecting these cities to Jerez, however you might find a car hire the simplest option. If you fly to Seville and you are staying at the Estacion (Hacienda package), then we can organise a light aircraft transfer - there is an airstrip adjacent to the hotel!

Beware: Jerez is a tiny airport, and the services there reflect this. If you plan to hire a car, do it well in advance, there will be no cars available on walk-up!

GETTING TO YOUR HOTEL

If you fly to Jerez, we can organise an airport pickup for you to your hotel, or you can simply take a taxi. If you are driving car or bike, we have secure parking at all our hotels.

Hotels Villa Jerez, Sherry Park and Guadalete are all located quite close to each other in Jerez city. The Antigua Estacion (Special/ Hacienda package) is located in the village of Villamartin about a 45 minute drive NE of Jerez.

GETTING TO THE TRACK

Jerez circuit is situated about 12 km east of Jerez (on same road to Villamartin/Estacion). There is NO public transport there; and taxis are very reluctant to drive there during the motogp. Getting a taxi back is almost impossible, people frequently walk. Of course our package customers will be on the coach with us, if you are there on a ticket-only basis, we recommend you either drive or ask us if we have space available on our coach.

Parking is also tricky -- while there is plenty of parking space, it will jam up and exiting the car park, even on motorcycle, will require patience. We recommend a late departure from the track. VIP Village customers may request a VIP parking pass, customers with Especial tickets also have a private car park near the grandstand. In both cases, long waits to exit are the norm.

If you are in the Estacion, we can organise a helicopter transfer to the track.

GETTING AROUND JEREZ

During the GP, taxis are scarce, and especially on Saturday night, the town is heaving with people; so progress will be slow. Our advice: walk. The town is not that big, you can walk from our hotels to the city centre in about 40 minutes. You will probably be there before the taxi! With the great night life and abundant beer, the walk back will be easy!

Jerez 4 Circuito do Estoril Estoril circuito-estoril.pt Estoril Portugal 8598 8577 8787 10498 8642 8614 Fly to Lisbon, Estoril is about 30 minutes by car. We can organise pickup or just take a taxi POR estoril General Information

The Circuito do Estoril lies 30 km from the capital city, Lisboa (Lisbon), near the coast. Our hotels are in Cascais – also on the coast, 9km from circuit.

By air

The nearest airport is the Portela Airport in Lisbon (Aeroporto da Portela de Sacavém), located approximately 35 km from the circuit. See www.skyscanner.net or www.expedia.com to find out what airlines will get you there. There is no other reasonable alternative.

Public transport from the airport to Cascais is possible but awkward. Let us know your flight details and we can arrange a car to pick you up; and will consolidate where several customers are coming nearly together. Or simply grab a taxi - will be about 40-50 EUR.

By road
You might consider a car hire - all our hotels have parking, but both Cascais and Sintra are pretty compact towns and the parking is a bit expensive.

There are fast roads links from Lisbon to the Circuit. You may need approximately €1.50 in tolls for this journey:
Leave Lisbon via the A5 and continue for approximately 20km. Take Exit 9 onto Avenida Condes De Barcelona, which quickly becomes Estrada da Ribiera.
After approximately 1.5km (and passing through a roundabout along the way) turn left onto the Rúa Principal which then becomes Rúa das Fisgas (both the EM588). This road will eventually run parallel to the N9 motorway and intersect it at a roundabout: at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit (effectively continuing straight) and continue along the N9 By now the circuit should be rearing up on your left-hand side!
At the next roundabout on the N9, take the 3rd exit (turning left) and continue along the Rúa Dom Dinis Bordalo Pinheiro – and you’re there!

Getting to the track & parking
If you are driving there are several car parks pretyt close to the track. Of course if you are VIP ask us for a parking pass

There are also public bus services leaving from close to the track going to Sintra and Cascais. Needless to say, these buses get crowded on race day and you might have to let a few go by!

Of course the simplest option is to come on our coaches -- we have privileged parking access and of course you don't need to worry about a few drinks at the circuit! Our transfers are included with all packages -- if you are a ticket-only customer we MAY have some space available, please ask.

The circuit is just about 9km and customers have been know to walk; taxis are not too expensive either (although race day of course will be dearer)

GETTING THERE

Air
The main international airport is Pudong airport located 30 Km outside the city. You can look on www.kayak.com, www.skyscanner.net or www.expedia.com for tickets.

Bus
Local buses are hard work. During the rush hour and the weekends they are packed to the hilt and virtually impossible to board. Stops can also be unpredictable: you may be helplessly carried past your destination. Pickpockets are another drawback, so travel at your own risk.

Car
Only residents can hire a car in Shanghai; we recommend not driving in Shanghai unless you're familiar with the nightmare one-way system and the appalling conditions on the roads.

Taxi
Shanghai's Volkswagen taxis are reasonably cheap and easy to flag down, except during rush hour. Only a few take credit cards. Request the driver to use the meter.

Underground rail
Shanghai's subway system is a dream, and probably the best way to get around town. Trains are fast, cheap, clean and easy, although they can be crowded at peak hour. The new Mag Lev (Magnetic Levitation) line has started regular services between the city and Pudong airport. The 30km (19mi) trip will take just eight minutes
The ticket price is around 40 RMB (US$5.06) for airline passengers with proof of an airline ticket purchase receipt (plane boarding passes are not acceptable). One-way VIP ticket costs 100 RMB (US $12.66). A round-trip ticket costs 80 RMB (US$10.13).
Take the train to Longyang road and from there get on the Line 2 Subway and get off at Jing’an Temple station, the hotel is right across the street.

While there are some fascinating places to stroll through in Shanghai, new road developments, building sites, jam-packed walkways and congested traffic conditions often make walking in most areas an exhausting experience.

Airport Transfers
We can arrange private transfers from the hotel to the airoport. Ask us for further information. Please suply all flight information.
Directions from Hotel Equatorial to the circuit

The circuit is about 30 Km from the city centre. There are two locations for shuttle service to the racetrack which are Shanghai Hongkou football stadium and Shanghai International Gymnastics Center. Package customers of Pole Position Travel will have return hotel-circuit transfers provided on Sat/Sun.

Built in 1965 and incorporating a section of the 13.65km Circuit de la Sarthe used for the traditional 24-hour race, the Bugatti Circuit is located 5km south of the city of Le Mans, 200km south-west of Paris.

By air
The nearest international airport to Le Mans is Paris (Charles de Gaul or Orly). Try skyscanner.com or kayak.com to find out what airlines will get you there. From the airport we recommend either driving yourself or travelling on one of the high-speed trains. See section on rail below.
To get around Paris itself via public transport, see the interactive map on http://www.ratp.info/orienter/cv/carteparis.php

By road
The distance from Paris is approximately 200km and approximately 1hr 45 minutes. Plan your journey on viamichelin.com.
If you are coming by bike, please let us know so we can arrange secure parking for you. All our hotels have secure parking available.

Car rental
It is convenient to rent a car from Paris (both airport). Be sure to bring a GPS navigator with you to help you get through the network of motorways!

By rail
The best public transport to Le Mans is the TGV from Paris. See http://www.sncf.co.uk/ for details; we can book you a ticket if you wish although it is cheaper if you just buy on the spot or in advance from their web site. Be warned: these trains frequently sell out! An ordinary return ticket is roughly 35 EUR. The trains from Charles de Gaul take about 1.5hrs; but are rather infrequent. You may also consider a train from the Montparnasse station in south Paris. These trains run hourly; to get there either navigate the metro (a bit of a nightmare if you have baggage) or there is a shuttle bus from the airport (better) (look for Air France bus Paris CDG - Montparnasse or Orly - Montparnasse)

When you get to Le Mans station, it is a very short taxi ride to our hotels; we can arrange a chauffeured service if you prefer. You can also take a tram virtually door-to-door (see below, get off at RÉPUBLIQUE - exit St Martin - for Hotel Levasseur, PRÉFECTURE for the Concorde)

By coach
There is a limited availability of coach connections - we recommend the train. However to get a coach from either CDG or Orly to Montparnasse (to pick up the TGV) see http://transfer.airport-paris.com/air-france-coach-service.htm for connecting coach info

Getting around Le Mans
We recommend using the the new tram system. To our hotels from the station (GARES), catch a tram to the Place de la Republique. From here to the circuit, take tram to station ANTARÉS if you have Garage vert tickets (red line Université - Antarés) or OASIS on Line 17 for Privilege / main entrance (http://www.setram.fr/docs/0809-L17.pdf). Then it's a short walk from the terminus to the main entrance of the circuit.

Le Mans itself is a walking town - from our Classic hotel to the heart of the medieval town is about 10 minutes or 400m.

We recommend leaving the car behind and catching a train, especially if staying in Barcelona. The circuit is conveniently located within walking distance to Montmelo train station which is part of the Barcelona rail network (Number 2 line - green). During the race weekend a transfer will be available from the Montmelo train station to the Circuit de Catalunya. However you will likely be at the action quicker if you walk there by following a signposted route from the station. It should only take about 40 minutes and there will be thousands of fans to keep you company along the way.

By air (www.skyscanner.net for cheap flight options)
The nearest airports are Barcelona International Airport (known as El Prat de Llobregat, 55 km to the south), Sabadell (35km to the south-west and ideal for private flights) and Girona-Costa Brava (80km to the north-east). If you are on our Special Beach Package, Girona airport is quite close; and we highly recommend using this one. There is a bus service that meets every flight and transfers you into Barcelona centre. Please ask onboard your flight for both to Barcelona and for the return journey. The bus does not run late for transfers to Santa Susanna. It is best to get a taxi for around 35 EUR each way.

We can arrange airport collection from any airport. Please request for a quote.

By road

If you joined us last year you’ll be pleased to know there is a 30% increase this year of shuttle buses operating on race day.

At CSUMB you will load onto either the “A” or “B” shuttle, based on your location in the parking lot. Remember to note your bus letter because at the end of the day, you will need to board your “A” or “B” shuttle from different locations at the raceway. The “A” shuttle will pick-up and drop-off at the traditional Purple Parking area (formerly Wolf Hill), with the “B” shuttle pick-up located just beyond the Red Bull Energy Center in what is designated Red Parking 8A.

Driving – Parking Pass Holders
A limited number of general public on-site parking passes for Purple Parking are available through the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ticket office at a weekend price of $50. These passes are available for advance purchase only.

If you have a parking pass you will need to watch out for signs that correspond to your pass colour. Follow these signs to get you there. Allow enough time before and after the race in case of congestion!

VIP Village parking is on the inside of the circuit, on the hill under the corkscrew. Parking for our Pole Position Club is in Red 8 near the South Boundary entrance for those who have requested parking passes.

By Motorbike
Motorcyclists will again be provided free on-site parking at Purple Parking. Enter/exit at Barloy Canyon Road, located off Reservation Road in Marina (north of Monterey).

By bus
A free Monterey Salinas Transit (MST) bus service will be available throughout Monterey County. In particular, a route goes right past our hotels, running every 15 minutes. It drops off right at the track (marked 'bus stop' near turn 5); the service is so convenient most of our customers prefer it to our minibus.

Monterey 13 Brno Circuit Brno automotodrombrno.cz Brno Czech Republic 8605 8586 8796 9071 9072 8623 Direct to Brno: RyanAir from London or Cirrus Airlines from Munich. We operate a courtesy shuttle meeting the RyanAir on Thu and Fri. if you fly to Prague, we can send private car or organise bus (or even air transfer!). Czech Airlines from any origin can connect via Prague to Brno. Alternatives are Bratislava or Vienna. CZE brno General Information
The Automotodrom Brno is set amongst the trees in a forest approximately 15km outside Brno in the east of the Czech Republic; about 200km from Prague.

Pole Position Travel operations are based in Prague, and we know Brno and the Czech Republic intimately. We can take care of you from the time you land, and indeed advise best strategies for getting here. We CAN book flights as a consultant to your group, we are not IATA agents.

See also our web site
www.brnograndprix.com for links to more information, camping, and more tips.

By air
If flying Czech Airlines or Ryanair, Brno-Tuřany Airport is your nearest option, located approximately 18km from the circuit and close to Brno itself. There is a bus to the city centre every 20-30 minutes; we also operate a courtesy shuttle bus on Thur and Friday for our package customers going to all our hotels. Just look for our rep when you arrive. You must pre-book this so we have a coach of adequate size! If you haven't booked you can ask the rep for a seat (10 EUR)

Alternatively you could fly in from either Prague (200km away), Vienna (150km), Bratislava (135km). Try www.skyscanner.com or www.kayak.com for cheap flight options. There are regular train and coach services between the cities. If you come into Prague we can organise a coach connection to Brno; or head into town and catch the frequent train services (www.vlak.cz)

We can also organise private car/minivan service; or even chartered flights or helicopter.

By road
Travelling from either Brno or Prague you will be on the D1 (E50/E65). If you come from Prague use the exit no. 178 (Ostrovačice), or exit no. 182 (Popůvky). If you come from Bratislava or Vienna use the exit no. 182 (Popůvky). Follow the signs to the circuit.

In and around Brno
For transport to Brno from Prague or Vienna we recommend either Student Agency (www.studentagency.cz – Czech language website; select ‘Jízdenky’) or Eurolines (www.eurolines.com).

To get to the circuit, if you are not on our coaches, there is a free coach service number 400 from Mendlovo Namesti. Taxis are possible, but can be expensive (700 CZK / 35 EUR or more, one way) and increasingly they are difficult to get into the circuit on Sunday. We can organise a private car for circuit transport; we provide special parking passes for access.

Brno itself has an excellent tram system - tickets are available at 'Tabak' shops (tobacconists) and newsstands. When you board the tram, you validate the ticket - it is an 'honour' system.

At the track
Parking at the large car parks PO (for Ostrovacice) and PZ (for Zebetin) is free, however they are about 2km from the track. There is a free shuttle bus service from the car parks but these can get crowded. PVN is near the entrance by T3, but this fills VERY early (and there is a cost).

We sometimes have space available on our coaches (which go right into the track), please enquire if this is feasible, however first priority is of course to our package customers.

The Misano World Circuit is located in Misano Adriatico, a little seaside town that the locals describe as the best and most famous on the Adriatic coast, approximately 110km from Bologna and 12km from Rimini. Thanks to its location just near the motorway exit it is arguably one of the easiest circuits to reach. Also very close to the towns of Cattolica and Riccione.

By air
The nearest airport is Rimini Federico Fellini Airport (approximately 12km from the circuit, or a 15 minute taxi to our hotels), servicing operators such as Lufthansa, EasyJet, Ryanair and SkyEurope.
Try www.skyscanner.net to find out what airlines will get you there.
Bologna Airport is another option (120 km away); there are also a few options to Ancona, about 80km (1 hr) south along the coast from our hotels.

We can of course arrange for a car to meet you at either airport.

By road
The circuit lies approximately two hours away from Bologna and half an hour from Rimini. Leave either Bologna or Rimini via the motorway A14 and take the exit for Cattolica. At the first roundabout after the exit go to the right. Follow Cattolica direction for about 800m (passing over the motorway), then at the following roundabout go to the right again – and again at T-intersection approximately 300m later. Continue straight and you will find the signs for Santamonica/Misano Circuit on the left. And welcome to San Marino Circuit!

If you are driving to the circuit and a MotoGP VIP Village customer please ask us for a parking pass.

By rail
There are two options to reach the circuit by train: from Misano rail station (5 km from the circuit) you can get a taxi or walk, or from Riccione (15 km from the circuit) you will need to catch a taxi. See www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html for timetable and ticket information.

Our Superior hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main Riccione station.

Getting to the track

Of course, all our package customers don't need to worry about this, as we provide door-to-door service! If you are a ticket-only customer (especially if VIP) we may have space available on our coach; contact us.

During the MotoGP weekend, bus company AM Tram Agenzia will schedule a shuttle bus from Misano rail station and Riccione to the circuit. Alternatively there are also some public buses that have stops near the circuit. Try bus n.55 from Riccione and Misano and bus n.124 from Rimini. To get to the circuit, you need to walk a maximum 1-2 km.

Further information can be found via the customer service line (+39 0541/300533) or at: http://www.tram.rimini.it/webserver/agenzia/serviziNEW/serv_tras_pubbl/serv_t_percorsieora.html for timetable information (Italian language site).

GETTING TO INDIANAPOLIS
While Indianapolis has an international airport; all the international flights are from Canada and Mexico - there are a no direct flights from Europe.

However there are a couple of good strategies for getting here:
Low-cost carriers:
Try a European flight to a destination served by a low cost carrier to Indy.
Airtran (www.airtran.com) runs cheap direct flights from Florida (Orlando and several others), New York LaGuardia, Washington DC (Reagan), Milwaukee and Atlanta.
Southwest (www.southwest.com) also has great internal fares from Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Las Vegas, Chicago (Midway), Orlando, Tampa Bay and a couple of others.
Frontier from Denver.

Chicago & drive
Since Chicago is well served internationally, you might consider jumping off there and simply doing a car hire or train.

Trains
Indianapolis is well served by Amtrak (amtrak.com) from Chicago and most major East Coast cities. The station is virtually walking distance from our downtown hotels.

Or simply book a connecting flight to Indy on several major airlines include Delta, Continental, Northwest, American, Canadian, Midwest, United.

In any case, let us know how you are arriving, we can organise airport pickup from Indianapolis, or if you are a larger group we can organise van collection from Chicago.

We can organise flights for groups as well - please enquire.

GETTING TO THE TRACK
There isn't much in the way of public transport: catch bus route 25 from downtown - runs hourly, takes 28 minutes and doesn't run at all on Sunday... See indygo.net

Your main options are drive or taxi.

If you are on package with us we take you there and back of course - nothing to worry about!

PARKING
There is ample parking at the track, some free parking,
Motorcycle parking is free, enter through gate 2.

Phillip Island 18 Sepang International Circuit Sdn. Bhd. Sepang malaysiangp.com.my Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 8609 8591 8801 9245 9246 8628 Fly to Kulala Lumpur - deluxe hotel is at the airport; superior hotel is easy taxi or we can organise pickup MAL sepang GETTING HERE

The circuit is adjacent to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). If you are staying with us, our packages include hotel pickup, so let us know your flight information and we will come get you. If you are on your own, the you can get a local taxi to the track; if you are heading for a hotel in KL, then there is an express train service that takes about 30 minutes and costs about $2. KL is nearly an hour drive from the airport, an ordinary taxi costs about $25; they will try to sell you a 'limo' service which isn't much better and is 50% more.

As in most international airports, beware taxi touts!

You can of course rent a car; driving isn't too bad here. Just avoid KL centre! The track has ample parking, and it doesn't get too crowded. Car rental is surprisingly expensive; consider using a local car hire company such as Advantage Car Rentals http://advmsia.com.my/
If you are a VIP customer with us and with your own car, be sure to ask us for a VIP parking pass.

GETTING INTO TOWN

Our beautiful hotel is situated about half way between KL and the circuit. This gives us a good compromise between a relatively short journey to the circuit and pretty easy reach of KL centre (about 30 minutes drive each way).

Taxis anywhere outside of KL are negotiable. You are well advised to agree a flat rate for trips in and out of town. A taxi from the airport to the hotel will be about $20, roughly the same to KL. Taxis add 50% to fares after midnight.

GETTING AROUND MALAYSIA

Not a section we usually add in these, but if you can spare an extra couple of days, you can get some very cheap flights and great packages in some of Malaysia's very nice tourist destinations such as Langkawi Island, Penang, Cameron Highlands; and for city lovers, don't forget Singapore. Air Asia flies cheap flights from KL and the local airport Subang.

Anything else you need, ask us (or our guide or the hotel if you are in place!)

WHILE HERE...

In addition to the MotoGP, some things to see and do in KL:
- Visit Chinatown, in the historic centre. Also see the old colonial centre. Very British!
- The Golden Triangle is where most of the clubs and party spots are (near the iconic Twin Towers). The city has a non-stop night life, probably the best on the MotoGP tournament!
- The shopping district Tuanku Abdul Rahman (near the Golden Triangle) offers an incredible array of goods at super prices
- The Batu Caves to the north of the city are a world famous Hindu site and a fascinating visit

By rail
Valencia has several train lines connecting daily with the main Spanish and European cities. From the main train station in Valencia you can get directly to Cheste in a tight squeeze via the circuit train. Following it is around a 20 minute walk. If you want more information about schedules, prices and more visit www.renfe.es or dial one of these telephone numbers:

Valencia Cercanías: 96 335 74 00 / 96 335 72 61

By air
A few km from the Circuit, Manises International Airport has an important network that connects Valencia with the most important Spanish and international airports. See skyscanner.net or kayak.com for further information about schedules and airlines. Travel to the city centre is then just a short journey by taxi and usually costs around 20 EUR. We can of course organise airport pickups.

When planning your travel, consider flights to Alicante (closest), Madrid, or Barcelona. The train network is so good that it is a simple 3 hr transfer from Madrid for example.

Getting around the city
Valencia city centre is spectacular and definitely worth a visit. Our Classic and Superior hotels are walking distance to the city centre (c. 40 minutes) however the metro is fast and cheap; and both these hotels have very nearby metro stations. Taxis are not too expensive but you can wait a while for one!
Valentaxi is a small but very reliable firm: +34 675 988 675

Getting to the track
If you are driving, be warned that the main car parks close to the track fill up VERY early - you are likely to end up with a several mile walk. Our VIP and hospitality customers can request a VIP parking pass from us.

It is possible to take a train from Valencia centre direct to Cheste, with just a 10 minute walk to the circuit. The trains can get very crowded however; but are very inexpensive.

Of course, Pole Position package customers benefit from the usual air-conditioned luxury coach transfers. Coaches are also given priority at Ricardo Tormo and despite the huge attendance, the journey times are excellent. If you are a ticketholder of ours, you can enquire near the race if we have space available in any of our coaches.

Our packages are based in the lovely spa town of Heviz at the western end of Lake Balaton. See our map for more details.
The town is not large - very walkable. We also have secure parking at all our hotels if you are driving/biking.

The circuit is about 30km (30 minutes) south of Heviz, near the village of Savoly.

GETTING THERE

Flying
Unfortunately the small airport at Balaton has been closed; so the three closest international airports are:
* Budapest Ferihegy Airport: 2 hours drive (179 km)
* Zagreb, Croatia: 2 hours (188 km)
* Bratislava, Slovakia: 3.5 hours (230 km)

Budapest is your best bet. It has a number of direct services from the UK: BA from Heathrow, EasyJet from Luton, RyanAir from East Midlands and Bristol, and Jet2.com from Manchester, to name a few. The national carrier MALEV flies to many European destinations.

Zagreb (Croatia) is slightly closer, and is well served from Germany and Italy. Try GermanWings, Lufthansa, Croatia Airlines.

Bratislava may also be a good choice - RyanAir uses it heavily: from Italy (Trapani Birgi, Pisa, Bolgona), Germany (Frankfurt, Dusseldorf), Brussels, Paris, Spain (Gerona, Alicante), Dublin, Stockholm. UK - Bratislava options are good from London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol (all on RyanAir)
However although nearly the same km, the roads between Bratislava and Balaton are quite small, and the most direct route is via Budapest

Driving/Riding

This is one event we REALLY want to ride to... Our hotels all have secure parking, and of course we will pay special attention to any bikers coming in. We do not yet know the parking situation at the track; however there is certain to be arrangements for all vehicles. Of course we recommend you leave the vehicle at the hotel and come on the coach with us to take advantage of beer opportunities at the track!

GETTING TO YOUR HOTEL
Getting from Budapest Airport to our hotels is a bit tricky on public transport. Via train it will take about 4.5 hours, with one change, and a 10km taxi (not expensive) at the destination. You go to Keszthely station. The cost is only about 15 EUR per person each way.

We can arrange a private car for you; also we will be consolidating customers into minivans for a more economic transfer. Please give us your flight details and we will advise the best transfer option.

We can also organise private transport from Zagreb. If there is sufficient interest we will do a van from Bratislava.

A taxi from Budapest airport to Heviz will cost at least €200. Similar from Zagreb.

GETTING TO THE TRACK
Exact track location, parking and other logistic details are not known at this time. Of course if you are with us on a package then we will sort door-to-door transfers. If you are travelling independently, we will advise on public transport options once we know them.
