Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Hard to believe this will be our 8th year at Laguna! This is an amazing viewer's track, you have to see the Corkscrew in the flesh to really appreciate the terror! This is an incredibly packed weekend - arrive Wednesday to really enjoy it; ride the circuit Thursday with Riders for Health, and of course experience our Pole Position Club on the finish line or the VIP Village with spectacular views.
WHEN...
Event starts on: 27/07/2012; Main Event on: 29/7/2012
WHERE...
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, USA
We are based in Monterey about 2 hrs south of San Francisco. If you fly into Monterey airport we can pick you up. Also consider San Francisco, then take bus, or 'Super Shuttle' shared van, or simply hire a car (likely to be cheapest)

TRAVEL ADVICE...
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is located just outside Monterey on the coast of California.
By air Monterey Peninsular Airport is the closest airport, at about 10km from the circuit, conveniently located near the heart of Monterey on the coast. There are direct flights from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, LA/Ontario and San Diego. Try www.expedia.com for flight information.
By road – General Directions You can reach the circuit from San Francisco and San Jose in the north, Los Angeles in the south and Monterey nearby on the coast. Here are some general directions to the raceway: From Highway 1 (Monterey/Santa Cruz): Take the Hwy 68 exit East. Travel approximately 10 miles to the main entrance. Entrance will be on the left. From Highway 101 South (LA): Take the Monterey-Peninsula/Sanborn Rd exit (Salinas). Travel West (right turn off freeway) on Sanborn Rd to South Main St./Hwy 68. Make left turn onto Hwy 68. Travel West on Hwy 68 for approximately 10 miles. Main entrance will be on the right. From Highway 101 North (San Jose/San Fran): Take the Monterey-Peninsula/Sanborn Rd exit (Salinas). Travel West on Sanborn Rd to South Main St./Hwy 68. Make left hand turn onto Hwy 68. Travel West on Hwy 68 for approximately 10 miles. Main entrance will be on the right. Shuttle buses – From California State University
At-track parking will be limited and a free off-site shuttle bus system will be operating from California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB), located just north of Monterey off Highway 1. Take the “12th Ave” exit from the Hwy in Marina.
If you joined us last year you’ll be pleased to know there is a 30% increase this year of shuttle buses operating on race day.
At CSUMB you will load onto either the “A” or “B” shuttle, based on your location in the parking lot. Remember to note your bus letter because at the end of the day, you will need to board your “A” or “B” shuttle from different locations at the raceway. The “A” shuttle will pick-up and drop-off at the traditional Purple Parking area (formerly Wolf Hill), with the “B” shuttle pick-up located just beyond the Red Bull Energy Center in what is designated Red Parking 8A.
Driving – Parking Pass Holders A limited number of general public on-site parking passes for Purple Parking are available through the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ticket office at a weekend price of $50. These passes are available for advance purchase only.
If you have a parking pass you will need to watch out for signs that correspond to your pass colour. Follow these signs to get you there. Allow enough time before and after the race in case of congestion!
VIP Village parking is on the inside of the circuit, on the hill under the corkscrew. Parking for our Pole Position Club is in Red 8 near the South Boundary entrance for those who have requested parking passes.
By Motorbike Motorcyclists will again be provided free on-site parking at Purple Parking. Enter/exit at Barloy Canyon Road, located off Reservation Road in Marina (north of Monterey).
By bus A free Monterey Salinas Transit (MST) bus service will be available throughout Monterey County. In particular, a route goes right past our hotels, running every 15 minutes. It drops off right at the track (marked 'bus stop' near turn 5); the service is so convenient most of our customers prefer it to our minibus. Details at www.mst.org.
Important information: From January 2009 it will be compulsory for all travellers arriving in the USA by sea or air or transiting under the Visa Waiver Program to provide details online not less than 72 hours prior to travel. Your application for an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) may be submitted at any time prior to travel to the US and travellers are encouraged to apply as soon as they begin to plan their trip. Electronic travel authorities once obtained will be valid for a period of two years or the validity of the traveller passport (whichever is shorter). We strongly recommend you apply for this yourself.
