Qatar is turning into one of the most significant events on the motogp calendar. We've had a season to try out the new 800s, bike rules, teams et al in anger. Now watch the major manufacturers buckle down and try to top Ducati. Does anyone believe Honda and Yamaha, not to mention the others, won't be developing and testing like mad over the winter? Rossi is out for revenge, Casey has a huge title to defend, Nicky as a traditionally 'slow but sure' learner will be on form. Newcomer Lorenzo is sure to upset a few applecarts, and what about our boy Toseland? Qatar is the event where speculation meets the road. Qatar is the eye-opener.

And just to make it REALLY interesting, for the first time ever we will be treated to a night race. Since this isn't Suzuka and we aren't planning to put headlights on as far as we know, the track has to be lit like day! They say this will be the largest lighting for any sporting event in history!

We go 'way back in Qatar - eagerly jumping on it when it was first run in 2004. We probably sell more grandstand tickets than anyone outside of the Middle East, and we dominate the VIP Village. In fact, this year we expect to run our 'Pole Position Club' in a private VIP Village area, bringing in addition to 'normal' VIP benefits, our own touches such as our hosts/hostesses, contests, special gifts, special speakers from the paddock. The VIP Village itself features one of the most breathtaking service road tours in motogp (will it happen at night?) putting you right on top of this unique circuit. And the event is so sparsely attended that seeing riders, getting autographs and photos, and generally feeling like you are on the 'inside' is commonplace. This is definitely an event to go VIP. (And the VIP Village is the only place on the track where you can get beer/wine!)

Since this year will be so special, we have extended our package offerings to meet all budgets. A great value 'Classic' package in a downtown 4* hotel will leave you in comfort (and with a licensed bar!); our Superior package in the seaside Marriott (our 'home' hotel) will spoil you; and if you want to go all-out, join us in the sublime Ritz-Carlton, rated by us as one of the top 3 VIP hotels of the tournament, and always the base for several of the factory motogp teams. Of course for all our packages, we take care of you from the moment you land if you wish, and we will have a team on hand to help with anything.

Our programme is packed, starting with an optional Friday Desert Safari which has become a tradition with us as we descend the 'hill of death' in our 4x4s. Our opening party last year was a huge hit, this year will top it. And Sunday we are planning a very very special closing event after the night race. Leave your diary open! Are we excited about Qatar? Like a newlywed!
