Gran Premio D’Italia 2010
The MotoGP at Mugello is one of the blue ribbon events on the MotoGP calendar and a must-see for any aficionado. The twisty, hilly Tuscan circuit is attended by the most enthusiastic MotoGP fans on the planet – the Italians! The atmosphere is so electric you will feel it buzzing through your veins. At the end of the race the track is opened and fans converge in their thousands in front of the podium – usually to watch hero Valentino Rossi standing in the centre. Speaking of whom - the Doctor made it seven in a row here; we finally saw his streak ended in 2009 by the 'young pretender' Casey Stoner, but happily for his fans Rossi still made the podium. 2010 will be a definite 'grudge match'...!
Spectator viewing at Mugello is very good, although crowded in some sections. For this reason a Grandstand seat is strongly recommended; however they usually sell out well in advance – the Poggio Secco is our favourite with long panoramic views over the curve of the same name, but if you want to catch the awesome straight (about the fastest in MotoGP), start grid and the mad podium rush, opt for the covered Centrale. All have TV screens. The tickets are regrettably the most expensive in motogp; unless you are certain to attend on Friday we recommend 2 day tickets.
But when only the best will do, we are now offering the MotoGP VIP Village on pit roof featuring full catering in a terrace overlooking the main straight and pits; CCTV, hostesses pit-lane walks and paddock tours. This is the TOP way to experience the Mugello MotoGP. In 2008 we had special guests turn up including British rider Danny Webb, BBC commentator Steve Parrish and the legendary Giacomo Agostini. 2009 we met the riders from San Carlo Gresini and of course we got to check out action in the paddock! Don't miss this. Sleep in a tent if you have to! NEW - we are offering an incredible experience of the Paddock Saturday night, with dinner with the MotoGP team in their hospitality unit!
We offer a range of packages at Mugello. We love Florence and base our packages there. Our Classic package in a well-loved 3* hotel is superb value for money, we have kept at same price as 2009! A great biking destination, our hotels all offer secure bike parking. Our Superior is in a 4* Villa hotel in a Florentine suburb - also the venue for our Friday opening party. Speaking of which, last year this featured a pool-side buffet and spellbinding presentation by famous MotoGP professional photographer Andrew Northcott. The party will take place again this year, likely with Andrew showing more of his fabulous photos. Both packages feature optional Friday track transfers, Friday opening party, Sat/Sun transfers. We also offer our Sunday Florentine evening winding-down dinner (optional extra) which is always a great way to end the weekend...
Saving the best for last, our top package in 2010 is the sublime Deluxe Package in a stunning 15th century Palazzo in the heart of old Florence. With only 11 rooms, this is a very exclusive package. Join us Thursday for a bottle of vintage wine in the impossibly secluded garden in the midst of the old city of Florence, a VIP reception on Friday is followed by our opening party; Saturday we take you to the track in our VIP shuttle; and on Sunday you can bypass the worst traffic in MotoGP in our optional helicopter transfers! Truly the creme de la creme!
