Gran Premio D’Italia 2014: 01 June

The MotoGP at Mugello is one of the blue ribbon events on the MotoGP calendar and a must-see for any aficionado. The twisty, hilly Tuscan circuit is attended by the most enthusiastic MotoGP fans on the planet – the Italians! At the end of the race the track is opened and fans converge in their thousands in front of the podium – not leaving until their hero Valentino Rossi appears to give his benediction! Speaking of whom - the Doctor made it seven in a row here; we finally saw his streak ended in 2009 by the 'young pretender' Casey Stoner, but happily for his fans Rossi still made the podium. 2010 was made historic by Rossi's first major career injury! His past seasons are best not mentioned;specially the 2013 crash with Bautista only a few metres after the start of the race.... could 2014 be his last time in front of his home crowd?

Spectator " general admission " viewing at Mugello is very good, although crowded in some sections . For this reason a Grandstand seat is strongly recommended – the Poggio Secco is our favourite with long panoramic views over the curve of the same name, but if you want to catch the awesome straight (about the fastest in MotoGP), start grid and the mad podium rush, opt for the covered Centrale. For our money however it is the new Biondetti stand that has the best overall experience with views in many directions! All have TV screens.

But when only the best will do, we offer the
VIP Village on the pit roof featuring full catering in a terrace overlooking the main straight and pits; CCTV, hostesses, pit-lane walks and paddock tours. Guests in the past have included British riders Cal Crutchlow, Danny Webb, BBC commentator Steve Parrish, the late Marco Simoncelli, and the legendary Giacomo Agostini.

But if we are talking parties, then Mugello wins the gold medal! Friday we repair to a countryside medieval castle ( location still to be confirmed ) jointly with LCR Honda, and many riders, team members and paddock girls for an unforgettable reception, dinner and dancing! Included with ALL packages, and only otherwise available to our VIP customers.

We love Florence and base our packages there. A great biking destination, our hotels all offer secure bike parking. Our
Superior Package is in a 4* Villa hotel in a Florentine suburb, just 10 minutes by taxi from the heart of Florence but in peaceful leafy surroundings. Our City Package is just the opposite - smack in the heart of Florence in a well loved 3* hotel. Both include our opening party, transfers, on-site guides and much more.

Saving the best for last, our top package is the sublime
Deluxe Package in a stunning 15th century Palazzo in the heart of old Florence. With only 8 individual suites, this is a very exclusive package. Join us Thursday for a bottle of vintage wine in the impossibly secluded garden in the midst of the old city of Florence, a VIP reception on Friday is followed by our opening party; Saturday we take you to the track in our shuttle; and on Sunday you can bypass the worst traffic in MotoGP in our optional helicopter transfers! Truly the creme de la creme!

And do NOT miss our closing dinner in a classic Florentine steak house - perfect meat washed down with buckets of Chianti - the perfect end to an always perfect weekend! (Unless of course there is a Test on Monday!)
