Event review - Indonesian Grand Prix 2024

We have to be honest - the first public MotoGP at Mandalika in 2023 left some things to be desired. We had a number of complaints from guests in 2023 all of which we relayed to the authorities and hotels. We are delighted to report that the issues have been addressed and this year we had superb feedback from all customers!

Removing the irritants, we are left with a gorgeous location on the sea, great food & drink, incredibly friendly service at all walks, and at an upgraded circuit with great racing!

When then considering our super convenient location of our hotels just 5-6 minute drive to the circuit, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the beach, pools & town this may be one of the top 'GPs with a Holiday' going! We featured a Classic package in a 3* hotel with pool, bar & restaurant right in the heart of Kuta Lombok - dozens of bars and restaurants on your doorstep. A super buzz about the place, and not just from the infinite scooters diving in and out of the traffic! (And most notably those of our team MLav Racing competing to out-crazy the Indonesians!) Our Deluxe hotel is the spectacular Novotel Beach Resort & Spa. Quiet with individual villas, palm trees, private beach and our favourite beach bar on MotoGP!

At the track we saw improvements everywhere. The VIP Village was substantially better - very pleasant with great food and excellent views. Our MotoGP team hospitality gave us a very welcome opportunity to escape the heat and humidity to an air conditioned tent. Event the grandstands were improved with more access to food & concessions, and easier to get around.

Thursday our guests met each other and had their first experiences of Mandalika at our traditional happy hour! The drinks on the beach may have gotten a bit out of hand as we were seduced by the beauty!

Friday evening we had our opening dinner, featuring our favourite Irish journalist Simon Patterson and we were especially proud to introduce for his maiden MotoGP Race Eddie O'Shea. We sponsored Eddie in the Red Bull Rookies and are delighted to have him join our partner Moto3 team MLav racing. He charmed all with his charisma and down-to-earth commentary on his life and experiences.

The racing was exciting, as we have come to expect in MotoGP. Sadly Eddie had a crash in qualifying which left him with a broken wrist and he will miss the race as well as Australia.

We closed the weekend with a group dinner in town and all agreed we would like to return!
