Event review - British Grand Prix 2025

An amazing event - just a shame many did not come to see it!

The change of date from it's traditional spot in August to late May did not do the event any favours - with attendance substantially down, ourselves included. However this did not affect the racing which was some of the best we have seen in MotoGP! The weather cooperated (mostly!) as well, with the threatened rain never materialising, and the days sunny and cool.

And four spell-binding races made this a weekend to remember!

We started with the now traditional Thursday Ducati Dinner - featuring Marc, Pecco and several other Ducati riders and many, many celebs old an new such as Glenn Irwin, Carl Fogarty, Neil Hodgson and much more!

A lovely Friday at the track was especially highlighted by our second team experience with CF Moto Aspar team, who pulled out all the stops for our guest family ! (They were great in Jerez as well, but as one of their home rounds, very busy. We were the only guests in Silverstone!). They surprised birthday girl Amelia with a personal meeting with her idol David Alonso, who gave her a rare Moto3 championship tee shirt. On Sunday her parents had organised a Moto2 grid pass (to her surprise) and then watching David take his maiden podium and getting sprayed by his champagne made this the most incredible birthday ever! The team at Aspar are simply amazing.

We had some 25 guests in our Moto3 team MLav Racing, who as their home event took a prime position, and introduced a 'garden' outside. On Saturday they did a brilliant in-depth garage tour and rider meeting. That evening the put on a wine tasting and a massive paella feast! A good time was had by all!

Finally we had guests with our MotoGP team Gresini Ducati and LCR Honda. With a fantastic sprint race victory Saturday, our Gresini guests had an extra treat! And over in LCR, a second podium by Johan Zarco in the main race had the whole team going berserk with joy!

We finished the weekend as we tradtionally do with local cuisine. In the case of England, this is of course Indian. And our restaurant in the lovely town of Newport Pagnell --- another star of the weekend -- was sublime! (And so are the 17th and 18th century pubs dotting the high street! :-)

Silverstone itself was the star of the weekend, and we are very happy they have moved the date back to its traditional August (7-9/Aug) slot! See you there!
