USA Grand Prix 2008
Here at Pole Position, we have a normally friendly co-operative team. One question guaranteed to draw blood is "Who's going to Laguna this year"? Why? Because this is the event more than any other that really sets our pulses racing, and is a destination that just spells fun!
Let's start with the circuit: absolutely the most challenging circuit of the tournament, Laguna was purpose-built for motorcycle racing. Narrow, hilly and twisty, there isn't a moment to relax. The road surface is a bit bumpy, to be generous, and some of the curves were clearly designed by a committee of evil trolls. Coming off a slight rise, the entry to the infamous turns 7-8 'Corkscrew' is one of the most breathtaking points on any track in motogp. Standing next to it is scary enough - now think of it coming off a 145mph approach speed!
This is a great viewing circuit - all our tickets give you general admission and paddock access so you can see it all! And come prepared to shop - the merchandise is like a major shopping mall, and the food and drink concessions are not bad either!
To help ensure you get the maximum opportunity to enjoy the most electrifying event of the year, we have implemented a simple philosophy: put together the kind of packages that we, as bike-mad followers of the Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid, would like to experience. And have we! Not one, not even two, but THREE private trackside hospitality options:
* The Turn 5 club , an oasis at one of the fastest corners of the track
* The Pole Position Club - superior catering and a terrace right at pole position
* The VIP Village Suite - the top experience of the race in our private air conditioned room as part of the official VIP Village, including pit lane walks and paddock tours.
All get you general admission and paddock access, closed circuit TV, our hostesses to look after you.
But it isn't all trackside! Sleep will be optional for those of you who really want to maximise the weekend: We start with a Friday evening blow-out party at the 'Knuckles' sports bar; Saturday night we repeat last year's astonishingly popular 'Beach Party' right in the middle of the Cannery Row mayhem; Sunday we have an optional 'winding down' dinner which will be sure to keep jaws wagging. Our packages are based in top hotel accommodation - the Superior 4* Hyatt Regency Monterey or our new Deluxe /VIP at the new 5* Clement Intercontinental on Cannery Row. With optional motorcycle tours tossed in, this will be a weekend to remember!
