| VIP selling fast! Sepang has one of the top VIPs of MotoGP; and as the penultimate race of a tight season, we think this may be the deciding event. So do many others apparently! We expect the VIP Village to sell out, so book soon. | |

Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2008
Sepang is a magic GP. A thoroughly modern track, the place looks like a set from Star Trek. The track has MotoGP's only back-to-back straight: hitting 185 mph on the back straight, around the tortuous tower hairpin then right back up to 185 on the front straight, only to go zooming back down to first gear on the turn 1 hairpin and the treacherous turn 2 chicane. Racing here is always exciting -- although the heat and humidity can make it a real challenge for the riders!
The central mall is magnificent -- like a little village in the middle of the track, and your tickets allow you to sit at virtually any vantage point. Definitely worth a wander -- and anyone purchasing grandstand tickets from us will also get a pit walk pass for Saturday.
But if you want to do one race VIP, Sepang is the one to do. The VIP Facilities over the pit row are second to none in motogp, and blessedly fully air conditioned.The food and catering is of course top class (we LOVE Malaysian cuisine!), and it has the usual CCTV and a great rooftop terrace. What makes the Sepang VIP truly special however is that fact that it is so under-populated, instead of ordinary paddock tours, Dorna provides full paddock passes permitting you to go into the paddock and wander to your heart's content. In 2006 one of our customers managed to get 13 MotoGP riders' signatures on one of our 'Sepang' polo shirts; topped in 2007 by a customer who got them all plus many 125/250 riders on his Malaysian GP poster!
Our packages of course take care of you for the entire weekend. We base ourselves mostly in the iconic Putra Jaya Shangri-la (a KL city option is also offered) Friday you can come with us to the track or take a tour of Kuala Lumpur (or simply hang out at the excellent spa! And don't forget this is a shoppers paradise!) Friday night get to know your fellow moto-heads at our opening party with traditional Malaysian cuisine and a speaker from the paddock to give you the inside track. All packages include airport pickup - let us know your flight details.
The night life in KL is awesome. We run a free shuttle service into the city Saturday for anyone game, the clubs are great fun, and Sunday night you can be sure to bump into a few riders blowing off some steam! We do an optional winding-down dinner in KL on Sunday and this often leads to a late night...
This is also an event to plan a holiday around. We can advise or add-on a trip before of after the GP to exotic locations such as beach heaven Langkawi, or the exciting Penang, or the inland Cameron Heights. We love Malaysia and would be happy to advise!
n.b. The motogp contract for Sepang runs out this year, and has not been renewed, so this may be the last chance to experience this wonderful event!
